You probably know that Google tracks and collects data about you. But did you know that you can make a Google data request to download Google data?
You can use Google to download all the data they have on you, or just some of it. Learn what data is kept and how you can download it quickly and easily.
What is Google take out?
This tool is useful for backing up your data, transferring it to another account, or simply freeing up space in your Google account.
With Google Takeout, you can:
- Select specific data: Choose which Google services and data you want to export
- Choose file format: Select from various file formats, such as ZIP or TGZ
- Delivery options: Receive a download link via email or transfer data to another cloud storage service
- Frequency: Export data once or schedule recurring exports every 2 months for a year.
In this post I am going to be showing you how I downloaded my Photos backed up on Google.
You can search for the official website of Google take out straight on Google or feel free to use this link by clicking here .
Once your there you then have to deselect all. As shown as shown below.
and look for Google photos option and select it. As shown below.
Once your done selecting it then the next step is to choose the file type, frequency and destination the destination is where the link having your photos will be received.
For me I prefer "download link via email".Frequency leave it to be exported once and also leave the file size and the file type.
Note: if the file size is high then it's most likely going to be delivered in multiple files as shown below.
Once your done scroll down click on create export and then wait for a few minutes for the download link to be sent to your email and then click on manage Google take out request as shown below.
Once your done with downloading the files the next step is to extract those zip files by using the zarchiver application on play store or you can download it by clicking here.
Then lastly open zarchiver application and locate the files that you want to extract then extract them by clicking on Extract to ./<archive name>/ as shown below.
